Reign in the Love

6.34 pm. The rain sprinkles on my arm softly. I see dots making a pretty mosaic on my jeans. My fingers spread on the soft velvet on the other side. The leather smell of the sticky seats lingers in this closed space. The cab driver throws frustrated glances occasionally, as if I created vehicular traffic. The raindrops slither with seduction as our man now struggles to tune the radio.

Khulti fizayein
Ghulti ghataayein
Sir pe naya hai aasmaan
Chaaro dishayein
Hass ke bulayein
Yun sab hue hain meherbaan

R looks at me and says, I love this song
Yeah, me too, I reply. Distracted.
Why did we never find love?
What?
Why did we never find love?
What do you mean?
I'm 23, young and beautiful. I thought I’d be married and have a kid by now. I’ve never fallen in love.
Well, why don’t you start with dating people?
There’s no one special around.
And you know this already?
There’s just, nobody.

Love, the elusive. Love, the shy. Love, the betrayed. Love, the gone. Love, the love. And if your glass heart should crack before you turn back, sang Bono. I don’t know. I don’t know who’re we’re meant to be with. With someone or not. All you can do is wait.

The only thing on the parents of a 23 year-old is marriage. Meet him? Like him? Try? Try harder? Don’t worry about the love; it’ll happen after the saat phere around the sacred fire.

You’ve chosen your unknown destination, but try to enjoy the ride anyway.

I’ve been with people, but loved only one. How does it feel the second time round?

Humein to yahi rabba
Kasam se pata hai
Dil pe nahi, koi zorr.. koi zorr.

Love the upcoming. They come from an unknown destination, one you would never imagine taking otherwise.
